We were created by Ash Dudney, third generation owner of the legendary Bib ‘N Tux, which has been serving Tampa Bay since 1976. Because of that, 1942 Clothiers has a history in Tampa deeper than most businesses and is built off of three generations and over 50 years of business and living in Tampa. We were made with the express intent of offering Tampa-specific designs and builds, featuring exclusively natural material suitings and linings. Our color palette is highly sought after, as we are the only shop that doesn’t try to dress you like we live in New York, London, or some gaudy fever dream of a bad Miami impression. We pick colors and weights that make sense for where we live - where we are from. We believe that bespoke fashion can still be financially accessible, and to gouge people on price behind the illusion of high fashion is an insult to self-expression itself. When people are looking for a fashion-forward, easy-going, and reasonably priced custom shop for incredibly high end Florida-friendly suits and tuxes, the finest Mediterranean wools, wool linen blends, wool silk linen blends, double twisted wools, and pure linens, 1942 Clothiers is hands down the best shop in town. Although we do think the guys at Greiner’s are pretty great, too.
